On Wednesday 2/7/2025, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Owerri municipal Caucus members gathered at the chairman’s office to discuss and strategize on the way forward.
Welcoming the members, Hon. Desmond Ofoma, SDP councillor ship candidate 2024 LG elections in Imo State and the current Chairman SDP Owerri municipal council said.
“I want to take a moment to acknowledge the unwavering dedication of our state chairman, Amb. Ifeanyi Henry Eluwa. His leadership has been nothing short of inspirational.
“It is through his tireless efforts that we have strengthened our foundations here in Imo.”
” Despite our strides, we have encountered turbulence from some members of the National Working Committee, whose actions seem intent on destabilizing our unity.
” Let me be clear: we will not be divided. The SDP is intact, formidable, and more united than ever.”
“Yes, we face waves of challenges, but each of these challenges is an opportunity, an opportunity to prove that we are stronger together.
“We must remain focused, steadfast, and dedicated to our principles.
“The SDP is no longer merely surviving; we are actively repositioning ourselves to take back what is rightfully ours in the 2027 elections.”
“I urge all of us to remain engaged and vocal. Let the people of this state know that the SDP is a party for everyone.

Together, the members strategized, proposed initiatives, and reaffirmed their commitment to the ideals of the Party.
The SDP Owerri Municipal Council was prepared not just to face the upcoming elections, but to thrive, anchored in their shared beliefs and the unwavering leadership of figures like Amb. Eluwa the State Chairman and the indomitable spirit of members like Hon. Desmond Ofoma.
