IMO YOUTHS DESERVE CLARITY, NOT CONFUSION*

The Mbaise Political Frontier has noted the recent announcements by the Commissioner for Youth and Talent Hunt and the Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Narcotic Drugs and Illicit Drugs regarding overseas job opportunities for Imo youths, including references to a Chinese company and a “Japan Game/Network”.

*OUR CONCERNS:*
1. *If this programme is real, it is a welcome idea.* Any genuine opportunity for Imo youths will always have our support. However, Imolites deserve better explanation on how this will work.
2. *We are cautious because of past experience.* Before the 2023 general election, Imo youths were told they would be sent to Europe for jobs. Up to this day, no verifiable information has been released. No beneficiary has been seen or presented to the public. We cannot afford to see our youths misled a second time.
3. *Imolites need full details, not distractions.* What is the name of the Chinese company? What is the binding agreement? What is the selection process for the “Japan Game/Network”? How many slots are available? When are beneficiaries departing? These are basic questions that require answers.

*THE QUESTIONS WE ARE ASKING:*
1. *Why always abroad?* States that are working develop opportunities at home. What is the plan to create security, industries, and jobs _here in Imo_? Why must the solution always be to send our youths away?
2. *What about insecurity?* Our communities face serious security challenges. What has the Office of the SA on Narcotic Drugs and Illicit Drugs done about drug-related crimes fueling insecurity? What executive bills or state policies have been initiated by the Commissioner for Youth and Talent Hunt to address this? How far have they gone? What results can they show?
3. *What is the impact on Imo?* How will this programme benefit Imo State directly? What investments are being attracted back home?

*OUR POSITION:*
1. If this Japan/Chinese company programme is real and doable, let government lay the facts on the table for all to see. Transparency will build trust.
2. We speak based on the last unfulfilled promise of Europe jobs in 2023. The pattern looks similar, and Imo youths cannot afford to be let down again.
3. Government should first explain what it is doing to secure Imo and create local opportunities. Charity begins at home.

We call on the Commissioner for Youth and Talent Hunt and the SA on Narcotic Drugs and Illicit Drugs to address Imo youths openly and provide clear, verifiable details. Imolites deserve respect and full explanation.

*Enough of promises without proof.*

Signed,
