Impressive attacker Oluebube Umejiaku and composed midfielder Faith Samson have been named Imo SWAN Heartland Queens Players of the Month for February and March 2026 respectively, following outstanding performances.
Umejiaku stood out in February, delivering a match-winning display in Heartland Queens’ 3–1 home victory over reigning champions Bayelsa Queens. She scored twice and provided an assist, earning a place in the NWFL Team of the Week. Her consistent form saw her edge fellow nominee Chimebere Opara to the award.
For March, Samson emerged winner after impressive performances despite defeats to Ekiti Queens and Edo Queens. Her influence in midfield earned her Woman of the Match awards in both games, outshining teammates and surpassing competition from Victory Odalumen.
The monthly awards are decided by members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Imo Chapter as part of an initiative by the Cosmos Chukwuemeka-led executive to reward outstanding players throughout the season.
Both players will receive their awards on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, during Heartland Queens’ home match against Pacesetters Ladies at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
Previous winners include Chizoba Johnson, Emmanuela James and Chisom Otika.
