The Catholic community in Anambra is giving thanks after the Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Jonas Benson Okoye, survived a road accident on Agulu Lake Road, while returning from Ukpor to Agulu.
He was in the company of two priests when the incident occurred. The three were swiftly taken to a nearby hospital, where they are now receiving medical care and observation.
In a social media update, “Catholic Treasurers” shared the reassuring news, thanking God for preserving the lives of the bishop and his companions.
“We are deeply grateful to God for the safety of our Bishop and the two priests. Thanks be to God!” the post read.
