As the year 2025 winds up with the eleventh month, November almost ending , it gives way for the year 2026, a year with expected beehive of political activities in Nigeria in general and our dear Imo State not exempted.
Crowded political activities are expected to kickstart without hitches in the first quarter of year 2026 to be rounded up with party primaries , political campaigns and subsequent general elections of first quarter of 2027 and our own Imo state off circle gubernatorial election of same last quarter of 2027.
The question on the lips of political spectators , analysts etc is how prepared are Imo political gladiators to give Imolites credible candidate that will show credence, ensure continuity and stability of tenure which has been the bane of our political development.
Political philosophers opines that elections remains one major instrument of reconciling conflicts and restoring peace in any given society or organization, then how do we reconcile our people and forge ahead unanimously using the forthcoming elections.
I believe that there is a lesson learnt in almost everything that we do and getting the needed lessons is how we move forward.
Doing our best at this time puts us in the best posture and in good encyclopaedia of history and also writing our names in gold.
Let us as Imolities tap from the wisdom of the good people of Ekiti state who instead of indulging in continued political wranglings and bickering unanimously reconciled themselves and offered his excellency Ayo Fayose their votes to complete his second four years in office as executive governor of Ekiti state after wrongly opting him out.
When Chief Ayo Fayose completed his second term of four years , Dr kayode Fayemi mounted the podium in completion of his own second term of office in same state .
This peaceful disposition and good understanding of the people has made the state one of the most peaceful states in our country nigeria.
Today the state is swimming in the ocean of peace. with massive human and infrastructural developments despite it’s lean resources because all hands are on deck.
Today as governor biodun oyebanji is facing his second term reelection bid there is widespread endorsement of his aspiration with little or no opposition .
Can we as Imolities copy this systematic approach to enable us have an all inclusive participation and continue to nurture and build upon the shared prosperity of this present administration of senator Hope Uzodimma, rather than having cantankerous political existence .
The beauty of democracy is that the practice is never final and always gives room for improvement.
Doing our best at this time marks us out as real patriots who has enthroned genuine reconciliation and stabilized democracy .
Our tomorrow will be brighter as Imolities with the consideration of unanimously offering His excellency Chief Ikedi Ohakim a chance to return to Douglas house come 2027 for his second term of four years to commence without laying emphasis on zoning.
This way, Okigwe zone and Imo our dear state in general will be glad we all did well for
Ikedi Ohakim, our man with a vision on a mission.
This is a project for the consideration and endorsement by Imo people, be it Okigwe Zone, Owerri Zone, or Orlu Zone.
