OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE END OF THE 12TH NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL (NEC) MEETING
Theme: “Strengthening Grassroots Mobilization for Electoral Victory in 2027”
The Southeast ADC Mobilization Network (SEMN) convened its 12th National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting, held virtually on Tuesday, 25th March 2026, under the leadership of the Director-General and Convener, Comr. (Dr.) Bryan Diamond Agu, to review organizational progress and deliberate on strategic pathways toward strengthening the African Democratic Congress (ADC) across the Southeast geopolitical zone ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Review of the National Executives’ Unveiling
The Council extensively reviewed the successful unveiling of the National Executives of SEMN held in Enugu State on 21st March 2026. The NEC commended members and stakeholders for their collective commitment, coordination, and sacrifices that ensured the success of the historic event.
In his opening remarks, the Director-General expressed profound appreciation to all members for their dedication and resilience. He particularly applauded the Keynote Speaker, Prof. James Okoroma, Imo State Chairman of ADC, for his insightful exposition on political mobilization and party development. The Council also recognized the contributions of distinguished guests and party leaders whose presence added value to the occasion.
Special commendation was extended to the Unveiling Planning Committee Chairman, Dr. Nnamdi Anedo and the Apex Leader of SEMN, Lady Monica Ebere Ozoude, the Enugu State Coordinator, and all State Coordinators for their effective organization and collaboration.
Commitment to Organizational Growth
The NEC reaffirmed that, as the highest decision-making body of SEMN, members must sustain the same level of commitment demonstrated during the unveiling ceremony. The Council emphasized that the task of mobilizing the Southeast electorate for ADC has only just begun and requires disciplined execution of agreed programs and strategies.
Members were urged to align fully with the programs and directives of the national leadership of ADC to ensure synergy, cohesion, and measurable electoral outcomes.
E-Membership Registration and Party Congress
The Council noted the ongoing ADC National E-Membership Registration exercise, describing it as a critical digital data initiative aimed at strengthening party structure, improving membership management, and enhancing strategic planning from polling units to state levels.
NEC encouraged all members and coordinators to actively mobilize citizens to participate in the registration process, particularly in preparation for the forthcoming party congresses scheduled to commence on 7th April 2026.
PVC Registration and Electoral Participation
The Council reiterated the importance of Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) ownership as a prerequisite for democratic participation. Members were charged to intensify grassroots sensitization and assist eligible citizens in obtaining their PVCs, stressing that political participation without voting capacity undermines democratic engagement.
Grassroots Structuring and State Inauguration
Reaffirming the principle that politics is fundamentally local, NEC directed all State Coordinators to submit timelines and programs for state-by-state inauguration of executive structures. The Council emphasized the need to consolidate SEMN presence at Local Government, Ward, and Polling Unit levels where electoral outcomes are ultimately determined.
All mobilization activities, the Council noted, must strictly comply with the ADC Constitution and electoral guidelines.
Confidence in ADC’s National Project
The NEC expressed confidence in the efforts of the national leadership of ADC toward building a credible alternative capable of winning power in 2027. Members were encouraged to deepen engagement with Southeast voters and promote ADC’s vision of responsible governance and national renewal.
In his concluding remarks, the Director-General called on members to intensify grassroots engagement:
“This is the time for action. We must roll up our sleeves and go to work. The ADC represents hope for Nigerians, and SEMN must stand at the forefront of this historic movement toward national transformation.”
The Council reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to mobilizing the Southeast region toward electoral success for ADC in the 2027 general elections.
