The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has challenged opposition parties who are warming up to take over power from him come 2027 that there would be no room for rigging.
Governor Otti gave the challenge during his October media parley on at the Government House Umuahia.
Otti who sounded it as a warning that no body has the power to steal people’s madate maintained, that his achievements so far will make the people of Abia to re-elect him and no body can stop it.
He advised those waiting for election rigging to go and write thier wills as that is the only thing they can write and not the election results.
On Waste-to-Wealth Initiative: Governor Otti announced plans to launch a Waste-to-Wealth project, which aims to convert waste into valuable resources like gas, methane, and power.
This initiative according to him is expected to improve environmental sustainability and create economic opportunities.
Otti who did not hesitate to look into industrial revolution revealed plans to revive moribund industries in Abia, including the acquisition of Star Paper Mill and Afro-Beverages. These industries Governor Otti said, will be restarted through public-private partnerships and theeby create jobs and boost the state’s economy.

On Road Construction, Governor Otti expressed gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Works for approving the reconstruction of the Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene Road. He also mentioned that his administration has awarded contracts for several other road projects, including the Ariam Usaka Ikwuano Ring Road and the Ise Mba-Itungwa-Mgbedala Road.
The governor meanwhile announced plans boost the educational system by recruiting additional teachers and thereby bringing the total number of newly engaged educators to over 9,000.
He also mentioned the demolition and reconstruction of dilapidated school buildings to ensure safe learning environments.
Health they say is wealth, Governor Otti highlighted progress in the healthcare sector, including the recruitment of healthcare professionals and the renovation of primary health centers.
He commended security agencies for maintaining peace in the state and urged residents to remain security-conscious and report suspicious activities.
