The decisive moment came in the 28th minute. Seizing an opportunity, the Chairman of Ideato South LGA, Hon.Okey Okwara powered a stunning shot that sailed past the lawmakers’ goalkeeper.
The stadium erupted! Okwara’s goal, a strike of pure precision and force, effectively destabilized the Assembly’s defense and became the talking point of the game.
His ALGON teammates swarmed him in celebration, a moment of pure, unscripted joy that captured the event’s spirit.
Despite relentless efforts from the lawmakers to find an equalizer, the ALGON defense held firm.
The final whistle confirmed a 1-0 victory for the Local Government Chairmen, a result accepted with good natured grace by their legislative counterparts.
