Dr. Theophilus N Nwafor, Presiding Bishop of Holy Spirit Teaching Ministries Inc., in this exclusive interview with ARROW shares his views on politics, governance, and the role of the church in Nigeria.

He believes the current government has failed and God has a plan to take over leadership.
He was involved in politics in 2011, supporting Rochas Okorocha’s governorship bid in Imo State.
Bishop Nwafor advocates for clergy involvement in politics to bring about God’s will.
Critical of APC’s governance, calling it “wickedness upon wickedness”.
He expects a change in government, referencing biblical prophecy and Trump’s potential role.

May We Meet You Formally?
I am Dr. Theophilus N Nwafor, a native of Umuezukwe Awo Omamma in the Oru East L.G.A. of Imo State.

Can we know your Academic Background?
In 1988- 1991 I graduated in computer science, was working with it till i traveled overseas for gospel mission in 1999.

I came back, started my ministry in 2002 and was consecrated a Bishop in the year 2020. I also obtained a degree certificate in Theology.

Can you tell us more about yourself?
I am running Gospel ministry here in Nigeria, and by the grace of God, i have had several places as study centers.

Our core ministry is raising up ministers, teaching priests in the land, like it is writer in the book of 2, chronicles chapter 15vs3-15. In the nation they had been without a true God and without a teaching priest and a law, that is why they were into trouble, and from this perception now we have the commandment that says go and teach all nation and baptize them in the name of the father, son and the holy spirit, and all that I commanded you.

That is the core commanding verse that led us into the teaching ministry.

So, it is to teaching all nations and we are members and indigenes of this very nation Nigeria, and we are starting from Nigeria, as we have tagged Gospel Invasion Project in Nigeria, GIPIN.

How long have you been in the business and what have you been able to achieve?
Right from this millennium 2003, By the grace of God I have some ministers which I have certificated in this very ministry as teaching priests and also viable ministers of the gospel, both in Nnewi, Awo-Omamma, Port-Harcourt, Mbaise and Owerri. I have so many people I have raised as ministers of the gospel.

What Is Your Mission?
My mission is according to the scripture that led me to bring up that ministry, it says teach all nations and all nations involve the believing nations and non believing nations in the world, and I have to start from my nation Nigeria.

Considering the number of churches in Nigeria and the way they are going, do you think men of God are trying in their mandate?

Very good, I am not here to judge any person, all i know is that the move of God is stage by stage, level according to level, all am to say is about the move of God in this millennium which I have written a book on. I tag it third day perfection of the church. How do I get there, this is a revelation in the word of God. Luke chapter 13 vs 32 and it said, in the third day I shall be perfected, perfection there means maturity.

We know that we have a government from kingdom of God, that government as written in Isaiah 9:6 it said, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, so if you check this word, it say upon a shoulder, shoulder is part of the body where you can rest any object you are shouldering up and that language connotes about shouldering up responsibility on leadership and governance and seeing the secular system of government, they have failed and God has His own government on this planet, and we tag it JESUS GOVERNMENT.

Are you saying that the Government is not living up to Expectations?

Yes, all I know is that the system here is democracy. Government of the people, for the people, and by the people, but seeing the state of things in Nigeria today ,the government has failed.
They did not meet up that government of the people, for the people and by the people and I know God loves His people, He has come to take leadership and according to revelation 11 vs 15, it is written, at the sound of the seventh trumpet the government of the world shall become the government of our God and His Christ and He shall reign forever or rule for ever.

That means God has a program, to capture, to convert, to bring the government of the secular system into His government and by so doing, there shall be ruling of God and the mission of church will be accomplished.

Have You been In politics and to what extent?
From 2011, I find myself deep into politics all in the same state to fulfill the mind of God that there shall be peace.

To be precise, on February 3rd being Monday 2011, I led 20 gospel ministers to anoint Rochas Okorocha and the power of God moved in him and he said ministers of God have been coming, but with the power we came with, he asked us to accompany him in every of his move and by the grace of God we prayed and he won the election and ruled for eight years, though as a man he disappointed the clergy. If not our prayer at Oguta, Ohakim would have won the election but he disappointed us .

On that 2011 at the Dan Anyiam stadium Owerri , he said that he is going to govern with clergy men, and I came up with a proposal making sure that every autonomous community in Imo State has a teaching priest, so that we can now bring in God in his government.

We made him to be born of God and he got the victory on that election, for him to fulfill his own part, he disappointed us and as God does His own thing, God has to withdraw His grace, grace has expiration.

I personally came up with a proposals called clergy liaison officers, that will be trained and posted to the whole autonomous communities, before you know it, it was abandoned, and i know that proposal gave birth to the chapels built in the 27 L.G.As, even in the government house Owerri, and the claim now is that Imo state is in the hand of God. If Imo is in God’s hand, why are people suffering. We are still having the voice of God speaking. Exodus 3 vs 7, I hear the cry of my people, I am sending you. So,we are still in the mission of this state for rescue, and that is why Rochas came in with that rescue mission.

We were called rescue missionaries, powered by the gospel.
Yes, the people of God are yet to be delivered from the hands of those wicked people or wicked leaders in Imo State and the entire nation Nigeria.

People always kick against men of God indulging into politics. How do you look at it?

They are not wrong, their time has not come, the time is now, when God has assigned somebody to do something and he derailed, you will see him not getting the favour or the grace to accomplish that mission. It is about time and about chance. Times talks about seasons, chance talks about opportunities, when the time come and opportunity is not there, you can’t make it, but the time and opportunity marrying together, they produce the expected result.

Do You Mean Politics Cannot in Any Way Change Your Life as a Clergy Man?

I am operating from the spiritual background, I don’t think there in any change.

Look at the days of Daniel, Daniel sat in secular system of government of Nebukadineze up to 65 years. He served during the time of Nebukadineze,
he served during the son, he served in the government of Persian, it was in the time of the Persian that Israel completed the time given to them to stay in captivity, that is 70 years, when they were now released.

Remember Daniel prayed for almost 21 years, but the territorial Prince withhold the answer the Arch Angel was sending, if not the intervention of Angel Michael that rescued him and send forth the massages to Daniel,
that was when Daniel said, i understand by book, the number of days Israel has to stay in captivity, which was 70 years. And after 70 years, they got their release through Cyrus the Persian king.
So, there must be a Cyrus of this our day to deliver the people from the captivities of Nebukadineze and the evil world.

That is why there is need for political platform to anoint a king, to anoint a president that will rule this nation to the will of God, that is why there is need. I am not contesting anything, but I am on a mission, in the land of Israel there is no king ever made without the hand of a prophet and in Jeremiah 1 vs 5,10-12, It said, before you were form in the womb i know you, I have ordained you a prophet unto a nation, NIGERIA, so what makes a nation is a prophet. And it said ,today i sent before you a nation and a king to rule down, to destroy, to pull down and to throw down, to build and to plant.

So it is unto the prophet hand to destroy a nation.

It is unto the prophet hand to build a nation. The will of God upon every nation is in the hand of a prophet. Without a prophet nothing happens in a nation.

Remember the first king ever to rule Israel was through a prophet. I am telling you, the nation need Gods hand.

How Would You Describe Democracy in Nigeria under the Watch of APC?

It is totally wickedness upon wickedness, that is the summary of the whole thing.

They have failed the expectation of the people that elected them. They have failed everybody, but I believe this time around God will use me and you to intervene.

We must make anointed president of this nation. God said, now is the accepted time, now is the time for salvation. To salvage this country, Nigeria, is now.

The word of God is to prepare the church to take leadership:-

I Corinthians 6 vs 2. Do you not know that you shall rule the world, you shall judge the world.

In psalm 110 vs 1-2 thus said the Lord, Sit down at my right hand. Until I make thine enemies thy foot stools, that He will send forth the rod of His strength through the church, to pull down most of the enemy in this present government, in Nigeria.

Muslim, Muslim ticket is the enemy of God.They are not for peace, before you talk to any Islamic person, he will tell you peace, but that is not true peace. 1Corinthian 15 v 52. It says, in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, the trumpet shall sound, the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we that are alive shall change.

So, we are looking for a change in Nigeria government now, and how will it come.

There is incoming of trump, it is scriptural. Trump is a personality, and the change will be provoked by trump.

What I am telling you is how it is. God said, He perform the counsel of His messenger.

We are coming with the wisdom of God that will restore peace into this nation.

We are going to select men tribe by tribe, kindred by kindred and impact this knowledge in them. 2 timothy 2: 1-2. And He said, thou therefore my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus and the things that thou has heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit them to the faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

So, it is not my fight alone.
