The 2026 4 Days of Mount Moriah, A Faithful Journey of Obedience and Evangelism in the Diocese of Owerri.

The Royal Episcopal Evangelical Communion, Diocese of Owerri, joyfully ushered in the much anticipated 2026 edition of the 4 Days of Mount Moriah, a spiritually rich event rooted deeply in biblical teachings and fervent evangelism.

With the compelling theme, Abraham sacrificed his only son, a demonstration of faith through obedience (Genesis 22:2), the program entered its second day today 9th January 2026, with renewed zeal, drawing worshippers into a profound encounter with God’s word and purpose.

Leading the Diocese faithfully, Bishop Festus Nwaodu, Bishop of the diocese, emphasized the true intention behind this sacred gathering.

He reiterated that the 4 Days of Mount Moriah is fundamentally an evangelistic crusade designed to attract souls for Christ, and stressed that the program’s essence transcends mere celebration or merriment; rather, it demands a heart of sacrifice akin to that of Abraham.

“This is a time to live like Abraham, where obedience to God surpasses personal desires. It is not just the sacrifice of Isaac that counts but the sacrifice of self, our character, our integrity, and our will.”

He challenged the concregation to embody a faith characterized by unwavering obedience and moral excellence.

Throughout the first day and as the program progressed, numerous testimonies bore witness to God’s transformative power touching lives.

For Bishop Nwaodu, these testimonies reaffirmed his primary concern, winning souls for Christ, as he highlighted that every element of the program is carefully curated as a pure biblical exposition.
Canon Confidence Festus, pastoring at Ogbunka, Anambra State, discribed the program as a yearly event where they gather together to present themselves to the house of God to seek for His blessings.

He stressed that the program is a great one that can lead one to greatness and enjoined the people not to miss the opportunity.

The 4 Days of Mount Moriah continued to be a beacon of spiritual revival throughout the diocese, an invitation to believers to surrender fully like Abraham, trusting in God’s promises through obedient faith.
