G.O.A.T U -19 Football Tournament: Nigeria, Ghana to Slot it out.

Game on Afrika Tournament (G.O.A.T) A non governmental organization has set out plans to organize an U-19 Football Tournament between Nigeria and Ghana.

Briefing the members of Sports Writers Association (SWAN) Imo State Chapter recently in owerri, they stated that the move is geared towards discovering and building talents, as well as exposing them to opportunities.

The CEO, Prince Emeka Nwankwo, a Nigeria born United kingdom base football administrator pointed out that the 2025 Game on-Afrika Tournament (G.O.A.T) registration is ongoing, through the four Zonal Centers in Nigeria and to be assessed through the website www.gameonafrika.com .

The Tournament Project Coordinator and the CEO Imo Angels FC Owerri, Lady Jenny Anusiem also stressed that the tournament is designed to provide opportunities for the underage footballers seeking to excel in their skills within the countries.

She hinted that the Zonal centers hosting the tournament in Nigeria are Enugu, Imo, Lagos, and Abuja, pointing out that the ongoing registration will end on 30th of September in Nigeria while that of Ghana will end on October 2nd 2025.

She explained that the registration fee per a person in a club in Nigeria is #50, OOO while Ghana is 1000 cedis, and that winner will go home with 5000 cedis, the second 3000 cedis, while the winner in Nigeria team will go home with # I m second place #500, 000.

She also pointed out that the overall winner in Nigeria team will travel to Ghana to play with the overall winner of Ghana team, while they Ghana team will play a return match in Nigeria to have the final winner from both countries.

Adding that those that finally emerged overall winner from either countries U-19 team, will have the privilege to traveling to the United kingdom UK by next year to play with the continent best under U-19 team.

She further explained that the tournament will commence in Nigeria on 4th of October 2025, while that of Ghana will also commence on the 7th of October 2025, and adviced both countries to select the best budding talents.

Also speaking, the tournament coordinator in Enugu state, Mr Nwosu Felix who disclosed that the organizers are asked to make use of NIN registration, International Passport, Birth Certificate and Baptismal Card of the players, as part of age identification, also assured of strictness in terms of fairness for the age determination.

Adding his voice the Imo State Coordinator, Mr Okere Neville stressed that the essence of the tournament is to create opportunities for youthful footballers to Excel in their skill.
